| Alright, I have a problem.
I live in the US, with no probability of going to Europe this year. I'm looking at opening a bank account though in either GBP or EURO. I'm looking around online and it looks like it can't be done unless I'm a resident of a European country.
Does anyone know of any banks that might allow me to open an account out there, even if I have to call and talk to them on the phone. I have Skype World so I can call no problem.
If anyone can help me out I'd really appreciate it. | |

| I didn't find any banks (that I use) that allow it. Maybe you should look for American banks that also have European clients. | |

| I am not sure of Banking Laws in the US, but you should be able to open an account with an international bank such as Barclays, Bank ofAmerica (Branches in London) etc. |Alternativley you should be able to open a Euro Account with your local bank in the US. Cash Cards are now generally accepted world wide so cash withdrawals at ATM's or at the counter should not be a problem if in Europe (although over the counter may require additional ID), but there are also daily withdrawal limits unless you make special arrangments with your bank. Alternativley you could set up a Limited Company for example in the UK with yourself as a Director. You would need someone willing to allow their address to be used as the registered office in the UK. Each year you would have to make a declaration to Companies House in the UK that you are a non-trading Company, but you will still be able to use the Bank Accounts that you have set up although all deposits into the account, if not business dealings would have to be accounted for as Directors Loans to the Company. Hope this helps, and if i can be of further assistance, please ask. (Rasputin MO Scot - my Player name on Spearhead) | |
