 SPHD problem

hi gang

after my pc crash i've made me an pc from bits and pieces that i've found in the basment.
now i cant install SPHD.
this is what i get as errror.
please can anyone help me out here.
i do need it caus without it i can work on my mods

Are you installing with the original CD?

yes hanni i am.
did even download a mohaa assault and spearhead full from a torrent site.( iso )
and yet the same problem.
at first i deinstalled it from the installshield installation information map and reinstalling it but nope it keeps bugging me.
i'm out of ideas the only thing i can try is to reinstall xp maybe the problem is with in the OS

o forgot to tell.
i did even copy the ereg to the desktop becaus i thouth windows couldnt find it becaus i do install all my games in a second or thirth drive, never on C:

i cant see what the problem is as when you click on the image it doesn`t get any bigger

It's in Dutch, but I will try to translate:
It's a "component transfer fault":
component: SafeDisc Build
File group: English sounds
File: D:\Setup\data2.cab
Fault: Wrong function

i would have said faulty CD to start with but as you have tried other disks it cant be that, have you tried a different CD ROM? have you got the most up to date Sound Card drivers?

did install an other cd-rom and tis is know the error that i get.

well what can i say

downloaded the latest soundcard driver.
downloaded the latest videocard driver.
downloaded the latest cd-rom driver.

installed it and gess what ,zip ,njet ,nada, niks, nothing.
still the same problem

Maybe the cd-rom drive is too old or broke (if it comes from the basement...)

well hanni it's not the basements fault, it's a pretty dry one,and when i do store somthing downstairs that consurne electonics i do wrap it in plastic or fole so it doesnt get wet or damaged.

Whoohoo

well it works with the downloaded full spearhead version.
did had to do a lot, downloading it extract, convert to lft file than convert to a bin file downloading deamontools,
copy the Code_exe from the Ereg to the desktop and than open and installing with deamontools, thats about it nothing to it really : lol

If i understand it well, you didn't use your cd-rom drive for this? Then I fear that that was the fault Neutral

yes did use it for the original cd but for the downloaded version i had to use deamontools
